Mexico

This text isn't supposed to be a diary or an expression of my opinions, its purpose is to go over my plan of leaving this country.

I never disliked Brazil, and I still think living here is a good option for me, but my wife lives in Mexico. And I cannot blackmail my parents into paying for my shit if I stay in Brazil. Due to my dearest sister that left Brazil for the US, going abroad is my only option.

I'll stay in Brazil for a year more. I'll enjoy my family's presence and study to get my Spanish certificate as soon as possible (July 2024). I'll also work for a year at Wizard, the language school I've been going to since I was a kid. They don't pay well, but they pay, and that's one of the reasons I'll stay here for longer. My parents won't want to help me when I go to Mexico, so I gotta take care of myself. I want enough money to buy the things for my apartment.

The apartment must include a king-size bed, a refrigerator, a microwave, a ninja mixer, an oven, a stove, and a washing machine. Beyond other things, like a table, chairs, a couch, etc. All of the things I'll need to survive and possibly thrive. My mom acts like I'm a spoiled brat because of that, but I'm only protecting myself.

When I get to Mexico in July, my plan is to start right away with French lessons and improve my Spanish. Since I'll be already with a Spanish course on my belt, I might as well just speak Spanish with my wife. Hopefully, I won't need a lot of time to speak fluently. Also, I'll bring my cats with me. It's gonna be difficult, but it's possible. I'm bringing Manuel and maybe Gatiti.

Hopefully, it will be chill.

My wife and I are planning on renting an apartment close to hers, but definitely in the same neighborhood. It's probably gonna be an expensive rent but my parents need to get a grip and do it anyway. I don't fucking care. The neighborhood is everything. It has so many markets, gyms, and parks. It's filled with subway and bus lines.

If I'm lucky enough, I can enroll in French at the public University (UNAM) that is super close to Loop's neighborhood. It's cheap for Mexicans, and since I want to learn French, I might get away with the insane prices that they demand for Spanish classes. They think every single foreigner is a white fresita, and I'm not. So I refuse to pay for something that I'll learn anyways if I simply touch foot in Mexico.

The gyms are also close. And I can go to a market when necessary.

My wife has some ideas about what I could do to work there (if possible). I might be a language teacher, a dog walker, or a professional powerlifter. Obviously, language teacher is the first option, and becoming a professional powerlifter is my goal job. I'll be a citizen at some point, I don't know how but I will. I might just enjoy myself for 4 years, extend my student visa by turning it into a work visa and after me and Loops start living together, I might have a baby. Loops told me that if I have a Mexican baby, I will be offered citizenship. Of course, all of that will only happen when I'm ready, I don't plan on rushing anything, especially having a baby.

The flight there will be in a year.

I want to be prepared and I want to finish my (originally) three-year Spanish course at Wizard before going.

My parents will pay for my rent in Mexico, my French classes, and my expenses there. Hopefully, I will be paying for those expenses soon after I get a job, and then I'll think about being financially independent.

Considering so many things would be better if only I waited 6 more months, I will wait 6 more months.

Originally, I wanted to leave and go to Mexico in November, then December, and then January. The dates kept being postponed because I clearly needed more planning than 6 months could give me, and now that I was offered this job, I saw how easy it would be if I worked for 6 more months and saved the money for my apartment. If I kept working for 20 hours until next year, I'd have enough money for everything I need. From the bed to the plant pot.

If I stayed for six more months, I'd have one year of experience as a teacher, which is amazing if I end up becoming an English or Portuguese teacher in Mexico City. If I finish my Spanish course and driving lessons before I go, I might be actually ready for the adult independent life I want there!
